Kumusha in the Zimbabwean Shona language translates to "your home", "your roots" or "your origin". The name captures the essence of what world-renowned sommelier Tinashe Nyamudoka set out to create — wines that honour where they come from and speak authentically of their place.

Tinashe believes the best wines are representative of their region. Through a collaborative process built on respect for the vine, the winemaker and the consumer, he is building a brand of wines that represent and honour their roots. His experience as a sommelier at some of the world's finest restaurants gave him an intimate understanding of what defines exceptional South African wine.

Minimal-intervention winemaking and natural fermentation are at the core of the Kumusha philosophy, aimed at letting the wine speak freely of its origin. From the flagship Kumusha range to the experimental Wild Mutupo series, these are wines that Tinashe would not only like to drink himself, but wines that are representative of what is leading the way for the new style of South African wines on the global stage.
